There is a 6-month time period that is only open to individuals meeting Resident A status; then opens up for the rest of the categories.  - NOVEMBER 1, 2023 - MAY 31, 2024 

  1. The Cemetery is under the jurisdiction of the Town of Red River which establishes the prices of the plots and resolves all other matters concerning administration.
  2. Plots may be purchased by contacting the Town of Red River Town Hall. Full payment must be made before a plot is assigned.
  3. All graves must have a permanent headstone within nine (9) months after the deceased is buried. Headstones must not exceed 3’x3’ dimensions.
  4. All plots are non-transferable between private citizens. All transfers/purchases must take place at the Town of Red River Town Hall.
  5. The Red River Cemetery Board has established the following categories for plot purchases:
    1. Resident A: Purchaser has a Red River address on their Driver’s License.
    2. Resident B: Purchaser has a Taos County or Colfax County address on their Driver’s License.
    3. Non-Resident A: Purchaser has a New Mexico address (outside of Taos/Colfax County) on their Driver's License.
    4. Non-Resident B: Purchase has an out-of-state address on their Driver’s License.
  6. In order to qualify for a Resident/Non-Resident price, the purchaser must provide proof of the appropriate address in the form of their Driver’s License.
  7. There is a limit of two (2) coffin plots per household/address.
  8. There is a limit of four (4) cremains plots per household/address
