Town of Red River To Conduct Business Incubator Feasibility Study
RED RIVER, NEW MEXICO – Town of Red River Office of Economic Development & Tourism in partnership with the New Mexico Economic Development Department, Small Business Development Center at UNM-Taos and Red River Chamber of Commerce is conducting the feasibility study for the creation of a business incubator.
This step is vitally important to identifying potential clients for a new incubator, the availability of resources available for the clients, obstacles to the incubator’s success as well as to provide an implementation plan for the incubator development.
The Red River Business Incubator will focus on the development of service and retail businesses. In addition to assisting the incubator clients, the incubator will also aid all business owners in the community interested in starting or expanding a small business. The program provides below market rent, business counseling services, and access to shared office equipment.
“I am excited to have the full support of Mayor Linda Calhoun and the Red River Town Council for this project.” – says Max Khudiakov, Director of Economic Development & Tourism for the Town of Red River. “The importance of a healthy retail and service sector is crucial to the local economy. The goals of this project are to create additional jobs in the community, enhance Red River’s entrepreneurial climate as well as diversify our local economy.”
As the commercial real estate inventory is rather limited in Red River, this program will provide additional commercial space for new businesses. Below market rent prices will stimulate business growth in Red River and will help to retain younger generations in the community.
