Broadway Play Is Coming to Red River

RED RIVER, NEW MEXICO Theater is coming back to Red River this weekend after a long hiatus. The Rail Haus at the Alpine Lodge is hosting the Pavement Ends Studios’ Production The One-Act Play that Goes Wrong at their historic venue. Alpine Lodge and KWK Events have contracted the award-winning group out of Alva, OK to bring this incredible theatrical performance to this culturally rich weekend in Red River in addition to the Art & Wine Festival hosted by the Red River Chamber of Commerce.

You know the classic murder mystery story. There’s been an untimely death at a country manor, everyone’s a suspect, and an inspector is set on the case to find the culprit. However, when this play is performed by the accident-prone thespians of the Cornley Drama Society, everything that can go wrong does! The actors and crew battle against all odds to make it through to the curtain call, with hilarious consequences.

From Mischief, the creators of the West End smash Peter Pan Goes Wrong, critically acclaimed TV series The Goes Wrong Show, and the Tony-winning Broadway hit The Play That Goes Wrong, this is the original one-act play which starts everything going wrong. Over the course of an hour, expect a plethora of mishaps and disasters. Do you ever find out who murdered Charles Haversham? You’ll have to see for yourself!

Four shows are scheduled over the weekend: Friday, June 17th 4:45pm; Saturday, June 18th 1:15pm and 4:45pm; Sunday, June 19th 4:45pm. The $15 general admission tickets are available online at https://alpine-lodge-suites.square.site/s/shop and at the doors. In addition to the performances, New Mexico-acclaimed Sheehan Winery will be serving their wines as well as there will be appetizers available for purchase.
